About the Author
Rob Dalrymple is a pastor and professor. He has taught at the church, college, and seminary levels for more than twenty-three years. He is currently a Pastor at Cornerstone Fellowship in Livermore, California. He is the chairman for the Eschatology and Ethics consultation group for the Evangelical Theological Society and is the author of ''Revelation and the Two Witnesses'' (2011).

This book is a must read to understand why the study of end times is so important. I would recommend this book to everyone looking for a better understanding of Revelation. I enjoyed every page of it.

Rob Dalrymple's book on the end times is a great read for anyone trying to understand the concepts of heaven and hell, God's redemption of Creation, and the myth of "the rapture." Most importantly, it's a must-read for anyone attempting to understand the purpose of Jesus' time on earth, the connection between the Old and New Testament, and the reason we're here. Rob writes in a way that is understandable to the layperson, backing up his reasoning with sound research, plausible biblical testimony and extensive scholarly accord.

A must read!

As an Orthodox priest I have carefully combed through this text and I must admit that "Understanding Eschatology" is an excellent work. Though this book is written primarily to evangelicals, I found it very instructive. It also helped me further understand the evangelical mindset. This book will go far in taking the conversation regarding the NT and eschatology to the popular audiences.
I enjoyed the gentle introduction into why Eschatology Matters to the "people of God" and its implications in daily life. My favorite chapter had to be nine. For this chapter really urges all of us as the "people of God" to repent while awaiting the second coming. The gentle introduction into personalizing what seems to conform to an Orthodox understanding or practice was quite profound. The calling of the "people of God" to repentance was simply tying creation to its Creator, by introducing our suffering to the coming of the Kingdom or the Son of God.
There are many, many other sections of the book I enjoyed, but if I were to recount them all, this review would be unending. I would simply conclude my remarks by saying, the average Orthodox Christian would also greatly benefit from "Understanding Eschatology" and why it Matters! The book helps us to center our daily lives around Christ, the Church, and being missionaries (disciples) of Christian biblical truth.
This text is a wonderful beginning and I believe Dalrymple has much more to say and teach the "people of God" who desire to open their eyes and hearts to a clearer reading and understanding of Holy Scripture, while leading their lives in the midst of Eschatology.
